Trevon gets a haircut

Trevon was desperate for a haircut tonight since he has picture day tomorrow! Casey was nice enough to give him his haircut and as you can tell he wasn't exactly thrilled to have it done a little bit into it. He was much happier when he went to bed later! Thank goodness for Uncle Casey and Aunt Jenna for being so patient with him! (Don't you love the faces?)

Trevon's Award

Trevon received an award the same day as Garin. I was able to make the whole thing with Starlee & Ryden! :-) You can imagine how well that went! I have definitely seen things go better! But, here is Trevon with his principal on the left and teacher on the right.
He was very excited to get an award!

Garin's Award

Garin received an award a little bit ago at school. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to be there, so lucky for us we have the best friends ever and Jeff stood in for Garth and I. I think Garin was stoked to have the best substitute Dad! Anyway, I got there, took this picture, and then went up with Garin! Below is the picture I got of Garin on the stage! What a great kid!

Rainbows in Alpine

We were driving the other day to school and noticed a rainbow on the way. The only place I had a decent view from was in the left hand turn lane on the way to take Trev to EAK. So, they aren't the best pictures, but I thought the rainbow was really pretty! :-)

Shelby's Birthday

Misc. picture below from Shelby's birthday. She started off with opening Joanna & Broc's present at our house (Joanna came over for her birthday). She loved the purse and wallet! Then we headed to a little Mexican food restaurant in La Mesa that has the greatest tacos! After that back home for Oreo cheesecake! Shelby loved it! Happy 10th birthday Shelby!

Trevon and his castle too!

Valentine's Day

Garth and I went out for Valentine's Day-which is a usual thing for us! But, I got a picture of Starlee at her preschool party the day before and Ethan on Valentine's that I thought was cute. I hope you enjoy them!Starlee on Valentine's Day

Chinese New Year at our house

So, we had a friends over for Chinese New Year. Below are some of the pictures that Jaleen took of the evening. It was a lot of fun for us (us being Garth and I AND the kids) to have friends over. Garth made Kung Pao Chicken & egg rolls, I made sweet & sour chicken and cheesecake tarts (our non-Chinese food) and I bought the fortune cookies and goodies plus decorations, Martha made white rice, fried rice, pepper steak, wontons, & plum sauce (All very yummy), and Kerity brought the potstickers which were a huge hit as well! There were a total of 9 adults and 15 kids! We had a full house and a great time!
Garth is loading his plate, Kerity is cooking the potstickers, Jeff is seeing if we need anything, I am sure, and I must be throwing something away! :-)

Doesn't Starlee look like she has an "I wasn't ready!" look with the pursed lips?

Starlee's Preschool PJ Party

The girls had a fun time hanging out in their PJs!
Trevon stayed home from school-here he is playing with his best bud Caleb!
Jaren & Justin are such cuties!
We had a teddy bear theme-and the kids decorated teddy bear cupcakes with chocolate frosting and red M&Ms. You can't tell, but I bought the cutest bear molds-it is too bad you can't tell! ;-)
Our letter for the week was "Q." Here is Starlee with "Quiet Bear."
One of our favorite kids is Jaren. Probably because he is so handsome, has the same name as my brother, and we have known his family since before either of us had kids! Here he is giving the grin that melts my heart!
And here is Jaren again with "Quiet Bear." I think that this picture turned out so well! He is such a handsome guy!

Clearing the Berry Garden

One of our favorite things about the new house is the berry garden. We are very excited about the raspberries and blackberries headed our way. But, it seems that a years worth of growth needed to be cut back, so that was our family job this last Saturday!
Garth handled most of the trimming since his arms are a lot longer.

Above is the berry jungle before & after! I don't know if you can tell, but it looks a lot better!
Garin was a big help. He helped me shove all of the dead stuff in the trash can and then took it all to the compost pile!
Trevon looking in and wondering what the heck is going on! :-)

Extraordinary Desserts

Extrordinary Desserts is a family favorite! I think all of us crave it on a regular basis! It is just too good! While my parents were here for Brady's birth we had a chance to get away (Jenna's GREAT idea) and go to Extrordinary Desserts! Garth and Casey ordered the Truffe Framboise, Jenna, Dad, & I ordered the Berry Devonshire Tart, and Mom ordered the Blood Orange Ricotta Torte! It was all absolutely divine! Oh-Garth and I grabbed the Lemon Cheesecake to take home too! It was yummy the next day!! If you come to visit-we have to go there! Everyone needs the experience of absolutely divine dessert! :-)

Oh-and thanks go out to the nice guy waiting in line that took our picture and to Casey for asking him to take it! :-)

A Day at the Tidepools

Starlee & I walking checking out the many little pools and the creatures inside!
Shelby took this picture! I liked it!
The glare is bad, but isn't the beach pretty?
It is one of the neat things about living here!
Garin's reflection-taken by Shelby!
(I think she is a budding photographer with a definite artistic side!)
Garth and his little man!
Ryden was a little cold as well, but seemed to really like having Dad's sweatshirt on!
My handsome husband and a few of his adoring fans!
My 2 cute girls!
Starlee and I-she was COLD!
I thought this was a pretty picture! I loved the look of the water cascading down!
Here are the three oldest handsome Isom boys! (Trevon definitely looks like he didn't like the look of something!)
