Not much has been happening here, at least not much different than usual. Ethan had his 1st Pinewood Derby last month. I am Pack Committee Chair so with the different things I needed to do I didn't catch a single one of his 4 races. I was bummed, but there are always future years. Needless to say, I didn't get a picture of him or anything else either-great parenting, you know! It is a good thing I am a horrible scrapbooker!;-)
Jaleen and her friend, Sean, came up for dinner. We love to have family up. She called and wanted to come to dinner-we were happy to oblige.
The next Saturday we had the new move-in dinner for our ward at church. What a fun night! We had a chance to get to know new families in the ward while eating and just hanging out. I made lasagna, which I always love. The evening was so much fun!
Speaking of Jaleen, she also did us a huge favor! Shelby had her birthday party (pictures to come later) this last Saturday. Jaleen drove her friend, Noel, up 1/2 way so that she could spend the weekend with us! Shelby loved every second-it was the greatest birthday gift!
On Sunday I had my first meeting for Shelby and YW. Wow, doesn't that feel weird to think she is going into YW! It was a meeting to talk about the camp fundraiser. I must say, I am SO impressed with the YW program already. They are having a terrific fundraiser that will help with the cost of Girl's Camp as well as teach the girls to work for it and make things happen. A very great thing. Then the Tenney family came for dinner on Sunday evening. We all had a great time eating, hanging out, etc. It was the first time since we moved that we have had a chance to hang out with Tim & Tasha. We have known them for years (since "before" kids) and loved spending the evening with them. The sister missionaries stopped by while the Tenneys were here so that we could say goodbye to Sis. Brimhall, who we just adore. It was a great day at church and then a fun night.
Monday was a very rainy day so Garth was home from work. He headed down to Alpine (thus the picture with this post) with me (I was returning Noel). Since I knew that I was going down and Julie as well I sent out an email to see if anyone was available for lunch. I was so pleasantly surprised that so many could make it! Of course I forgot the camera (again-this is a regular thing with me), but I had the best time. It was fun to hang out with forever friends and chat, hang out, hear about kids, and just reflect on how wonderful lifelong friendships are. Afterwards we hung out with our great friends, the Behers, and all of us had a blast playing, chatting, hanging out, movie watching, eating, watching the hail, reminiscing about fun times, all the good stuff! Overall a terrific day!
Our life has been busy with callings, kids, and life in general. I have been walking with my friend, Julie and another new friend, Bridgette, 4 days/week. I have had the greatest time exercising and getting to know both friends better. We really live in a wonderful neighborhood for all things active. There are wonderful walkways, trails, and all that kind of thing. We can't wait to explore them more as a family. All these things are such blessings and really teach such wonderful lessons and create the memories that I will hold dear. So, I have been a lame blogger, but we have been very busy creating memories and wondering why we forgot the camera! :-)
